Not the best one, just the one that lives rent free in my head, as it was the first one on my first music TV VHS!

I can’t believe we are in Autmn 1999 already in the repeats, that’s what 5 weeks worth of skipped episodes over the Summer will do for you I suppose…

It’s my weekly dose of nostalgia. I remember watching these episodes back in the day. I hope the series continues with re-runs of 2000 when they’re done with 1999.

They better do, I need to see the Kylie comeback of 2000 in real time!

April 88 and 91 episodes tonight.

Bananarama the highlight of the 88 episode of course.

The 1991 one was particularly bad considering the bops in the chart at the time. Chesney at #1 for a fifth week was highlight although they said it was the first for 6 years since Paul Hardcastle - forgetting Elton John only a year before and Black Box in 89…

There was also the notable debut of a certain 90s band looking very young:

Thank you for the heads up! They did this a long time then.

Yesterday I met Chris Cowey who produced Top Of The Pops (97-03). Seemed a nice chap and I vaguely recognised him.

Also met Dame Su Pollard wearing a fabulous Frida Khalo jacket.

Great couple of poptastic episodes this week with the likes of Steps, Honeyz, Christina Aguilera and one of my all time favourite singles

I loved that era in the late 90s when all the divas had their own Believe moments. I actually prefer When The Heartache Is Over these days, such a great song and doesn’t suffer from being overplayed.

Nice to see an early appearance from Kat Slater too!

Is that actually Kat!?

I very much doubt it although she looks like her twin!

She was a dancer who has appeared quite a few times in the 1999 TOTP episodes.

An icon of the repeats. In my flat anyway!

I believe the dancer is Clare Turton Derrico who’s done a lot of work with Cher and Tina Turner.
