I hope he’s ok but I think this spells the end of his touring career. I can’t see anybody wanting to insure another tour after various cancellations.

Posting here since I don’t see a general thread for Zayn.
CONTEXT: I wasn’t a fan of One Direction or Zayn before. I liked a few songs by Niall that were very Fleetwood Mac / Hall & Oats inspired, then he had that brilliant Robbie Williams-aping single. I checked his album, and then Harry’s… and I’ve been following Niall and Harry’s music ever since. They both have a couple of great songs, a handful of good songs - and that’s enough for me. I don’t care if I don’t like an entire album by either of them. Recently, I looked up Louis Tomlinson’s recent two albums and they both have some songs that I really like. There’s a particular pop-rock sound that Louis has been working on which I really like.
Spotify has been recommending a few songs by Zayn and One Direction based on the songs I’ve liked so far - and I’ve come around to liking a few songs by Zayn. Ordinarily, I don’t listen to R&B-inspired pop as much, so I don’t actively look for such music. And based on everything I’d read about Zayn’s style of music, I wasn’t interested in checking it out. Also, I think I’m more tolerant to different sounds, styles and artists than I used to be when I was younger. Interestingly though, all of Zayn’s songs I’ve liked are from the album Icarus Falls. They are the ones I like sound like they could have been Miguel’s songs (recent 3 albums). - I don’t know whether Zayn is inspired by Miguel.
I’m listing the songs I’ve liked and why I like them. Will some of you recommend similar songs by Zayn for me, please?
LOVED:
Sour Diesel - I LOVE the sound of this song. Its like a hybrid of Adam Lambert and Miguel. This is probably his best song for me.
Rainberry - sounds like it could have been a Harry Styles song. Love the instrumental as well.
I Don’t Mind - This is so heavily Miguel-coded.
LIKED:
Natural - I love how he shifts to a falsetto in the chorus. Very Miguel-inspired. I also really like the dark/heavy atmosphere that the song creates.
Back To Life - love the instrumental with the guitar. Again, the chorus and post-chorus are very Miguel-lite.
There You Are - love the sound of the song, that chorus sounds very Niall Horan-esque (in that, I mean it is sweet and explosive).
Good Guy - Cher sample, yes please!
DIDN’T SKIP:
If I Got You - I like the gimmicky “youuuu” bit in the chorus.
Insomnia - Can’t put a finger on why I like this - but I just do. I don’t ordinarily care for that glitchy sound, but there’s something about this that just clicked with me.
No Candle No Light - slightly Diplo inspired?
Initially, I was quite surprised that I like 10(!) songs from a guy who I didn’t are about previously, and then I realised that the album has about 30 songs.
I find Icarus Falls frustrating because there are genuinely great songs buried in there:
I Don’t Mind, There You Are & Back to Life as @kaushik pointed out but also Fingers and Stand Still.
I also love the overarching theme of falling in love too fast and then watching the relationship fall apart. But the album is too bloated. It took ages to come out so I somewhat understand overloading it with a bunch of songs but at the same time it shouldn’t be the listener’s job to edit your album into something cohesive.

Manchester date looks nearly sold out, so that’s promising right?
Just heard Daydreamin’ and loved it instantly. It gets a little repetitive towards the end, but I love the funky sound. I have to check out the rest of this album to see if I can cherry pick a few more songs
He was 2 hours late to his Banquet Q&A so they had to merge two of the sessions together and a fan threw water at him as he was leaving the last. Yikes.
Apparently that person got arrested.
I get people are frustrated that he was late, but there is no need to cause harm to them.

I am and am so unprepared having barely listened to the album and HATE going to shows without knowing the setlist. At least I can just stare at him for an hour or so.
I don’t think it will differ too much from the US gigs, so can use those as a basis!

I actually have no idea what to expect fan wise. I would imagine he’s too ‘cool’ to have a load of screamers but also… Directioners, right?

On the train home from the show now. He was great but didn’t seem very prepared with a lot of the Konnakol tracks he performed. He was looking at the floor a lot and missing out whole chunks of verses. His voice was incredible as always but he said he wasn’t wearing in ears and you could tell, he didn’t seem to know where to come in on a few songs.

Just saw Zayn live in Manchester and he seemed on form, vocals were stunning and he was interacting with the crowd after each song. He is absolutely a beautiful man. The live band were great and loved the visuals with the lights.
Same setlist as London. Would have loved more Konnakol or Mind of Mine songs but he mixed it up well.
I will post my videos later, but warning you now, there was a proper screamer behind me, so might pick her screaming. Not once but every, single, time Zayn breathed.
