UK Eurovision Entry 2026

Now why are the computers on heads giving me

It just looks very bare…

Yeah it does a bit. A lot of countries have shown us barely anything so far (Australia). So hopefully there is a lot more detail to come.

We know they all start off in business / suit outfits, and the desks are all down before moving into the synth panels.

I don’t mind this song but I see no hope for this on the scoreboard.

In the preview montage for Thursday… UK didn’t look bad at all!

Didn’t get much of a reaction though.

First press reviews of the performance:

ESC Tom:

UK is *CHARMING*. Utterly chaotic, creative, imaginative and some of my favourite choreo of the whole show. A lot of memorable moments and genuine laughs

escYOUnited:

So he works in the office and looks clearly tired of his work. then the dancers put him in a box before he jumps on chair. then he flips one of the tables that turns into one of his keyboard looking things. This is insanely elaborate staging

the dancers start lining up the tables so that Look Mum no computer can walk along on them . the timing is key her. then a lot fo the tables turn into the computer looking displays. Lots of clap along energy here

thre was so much going on, I couldn’t keep track. they end up on the runway at the end getting the crowd on their side. very reisky but interesting staging

Aussinet:

The UK starts with LMNC and his backing dancers sat at desks as though in school (it’s a tad Daz Sampson). There’s some very creative choreography using the tables and other props before we finish in LMNC’s mad laboratory.

Still making my mind up on this one.

I’m getting whiplash from all the UK reviews I’m reading.

The whole performance. IT’S BLOODY BRILLIANT

Staging actually looks great! Still a mess of a song and performance though. The crowd looks bored as hell.

It’s shambolic. Reports of “the crowd going wild” appear a tad exaggerated.

It was bottom 5 in the Audience Poll.

As I keep saying, the issue is him. If he just had a bit more charisma and stage presence, he could really make that whole package work, but it all comes across amateurish sadly. Guess we will see how it all translates onscreen tonight.

Can we assume the green screen at the beginning is going to be some office background screen? It’s better than I thought it would be from the rehearsal clip. At least it has movement, several prop and scene changes to keep it moving - not just two giant trumpets or chandelier plonked on stage

HAHAHA!

Don’t get me wrong I’m under no illusions that breaking out of the bottom 5 is likely. But from that worrying rehearsal clip to seeing the whole package, they’ve done a great job.

2021 was just a horror show all round and we got exactly what we deserved. This time there’s a really creative concept, very risky staging, a decent performance and a fun song. Can’t really ask for more at this point?

The difference this year seems to be that this entry has fans. I don’t remember anyone showing support for Olly or Remember Monday going into it? So we’ll see if that translates into any points.

A light dusting of jury points isn’t out of the question if everything goes smoothly thanks to the staging.

There’s a lot of close up camera shots; the beginning with the green background, on the desks / treadmills, and when he goes into a box. A lot still to see on TV tonight.

The horror, as well as the song and performance of Embers. James’ song My Last Breath definitely suited James more.
