Good news? But they donāt specify that their criteria for āauthenticity and trustā means no AI.
I think it does. This is what The Amp published today:
Itās perhaps not surprising that Spotify is a little more concerned than the Academy about the use of AI for sound. Spotify is introducing a verification tag for human-generated content as it battles an influx of AI-generated music. The āVerified by Spotifyā tag and green tick will be based on demonstrable human activity on the platform and off, with things like live performances and social media activity helping the verification process. Spotify has been working through the list of its most popular artists, claiming that, at launch, 99% of artists that users actively search for will be verified. The change will also benefit fans of live concerts more directly, with verification data being used to introduce a new section detailing album release dates, live performance and touring activity.
Considering all the AI songs & artists do not exist before they were created⦠Itās obvious that 99% of things searched for will not be AI but that will change gradually. Ah well.
Is anyone elseās app having issues recently? Itās taking so long for any input to registerā¦
20 years of Spotify, a kind of mini Wrapped for your account. But the playlist bops! It also included play stats.
I just had every song Iāve āLikedā since October of last year disappear from my āLikedā songs. Though if I go to a song Iāve āLikedā since Octoberās page it has a checkmark by it and says itās in my āLikedā songs so I guess this is just some terrible glitch they have to sort out!
The 20th Anniversary app icon is so damn ugly.
Is anyone finding the desktop app increasingly slow and laggy in the last 2 weeks?
Desktop isnāt so bad but for me mobile is extremely laggy.
I think this new update just made everything worse!
Iām enjoying the new Explore SongDNA feature (currently still in beta so rollout may be limited at the minute). It creates like a little solar system of everyone who worked on a release (musicians, production, mixing/mastering etc) and allows you to click through to see everything else they have worked on previously.
I think itās a really great way of generating some more recognition for the people behind the big billing names by providing them what is effectively a mini artist profile that one can use to dive deeper into the rest of their work. Reminds me of the āwritten by:________ā playlists that Spotify were rolling out a few years back for writers behind the scenes who may not have such a public facing persona. I would like to see them implement more of these type of updates that actually help to give back to more of the music community industry rather than just the 0.001%.
Itās only small but I thought worth highlighting in this thread in case anyone else hasnāt seen this feature yet either.
These images show up okay for me btw
Wait, when did Spotify start allowing you to download music without keeping the app open? That used to bug the hell out of me, but now itās downloading even with the app closed. Thatās huge.
Maybe you had background refresh on? Perhaps it was introduced a few OS ago (on iOS).
Yea, maybe, i guess i did then? Thing is i didnāt click anything off or on, it just started happening for me randomly a couple days ago. Either way, iām so glad. Too often iāll think i downloaded something for the car ride to work only to learn 3 songs were downloaded.
Oops I typoād, I meant off.
But I remember it too, right before a flight I had to hurry to DL some albums for offline listening and I got a text and was surprised they all downloaded while I was texting!
The app has been unbearably slow the past few days. Usually what has helped on the phone is just deleting it and reinstalling it. Not this time. Makes me want to throw my phone out of the window when using it.
I noticed this too with the launch of their anniversary stuff. Nothing would play, even queuing up songs I have downloaded on my device wasnāt working.
Cleared my Cache and that seems to have worked, in case you havenāt don that yet.
It might have been there for a while but I just noticed that the mobile app (finally?) lets you shuffle all playlists in a folder
How does one do this?
