Australian singer Ruel’s upcoming third album includes the singles ‘Don’t Say That’ and ‘Hate Myself’:
Looking forward to this, he’s yet to top Cats on the ceiling though.
I’ve had “Hate Myself” on repeat since its release, but I do miss Free Time-era Ruel.
Don’t Say That is really great. I only knew him from a random SG Lewis track before.
I went to his signing yesterday at Rough Trade and he was so lovely, being happy to sign anything, had real time for each person and then photos too. He also played with a fully live band which is really unusual for these signings as opposed to the more acoustic vibes you get and even played some old tracks as well as the new.
Debbie Don’t Cry is out on Friday and sounds like he is 3/3 for this album after Don’t Say That and Hate Myself.
The intro sound like an 80s song. Someone please help what is it.
It definitely has an 80s power ballad vibe and I’m loving the synths underneath it.
The video was filmed on Monday after the bus tour and is cute considering they must have filmed it in about an hour.
