I hope FELICIA is not discouraged by her result at Eurovision tonight. Her song + staging + performance was leagues and leagues above everything else that competed in Melodifestivalen 2026 and was the only logical choice out of what was on offer. I think Grezcula, Medina, and Smash Into Pieces would easily have been outshined by the other entries in similar genres to them.

Every year I ask for Andreas Wijk. He deserves success. He’s just finished his long running Moulin Rogue gig so maybe this is the time. I have no idea if he’s even signed to a label though.

If she knew how to dance, she would’ve performed better. I like her but her stage presence is still fairly awkward.

Tonight showed that Cimberly was the real queen and should have got the ticket to Vienna.

They should’ve had more faith in Cimberly and given her more budget for her staging. She was truly robbed of better staging.

A thing I forgot to take into account was that FELICIA had a narrative this year, in terms of the whole “used to be Fröken Snusk with a #1 single and won Masked Singer, then she got kicked out by Rasmus Gozzi, now she is finally performing on her own terms” kind of thing. That surely boosted support within Melodifestivalen, but the Eurovision audience on Tuesday or Saturday nights likely wouldn’t have known anything about it (or cared).

Also she did come first with the international juries back in March - not in a landslide and ultimately not exactly an accurate prediction of the broader viewing public, but understandable that they thought they were on the right track.

I don’t think Sweden has started the new version of the 19-5-18-18-21-DNQ downfall from 2005-2010 though.

Also I just saw a clip of DARA’s interview with Aftonbladet on the turquoise carpet where she said that she wished “My System” was her song: When I heard it, I was like “Damn it! i should have come up with this song!”

So hey, if it is good enough for the new Queen of Eurovision…!

SVT project manager Anders Wistbacka has resigned and SVT is facing massive budget cuts for Melfest 2027. We might be looking at Sweden’s flop era.
