Leire Martinez is a singer-songwriter from Spain best known for being the lead vocalist of the iconic pop band La Oreja de Van Gogh from 2008 to 2024, where she once replaced the original singer. Some time after, she launched her solo career with the big hit Mi Nombre, which she used to state her perspective on her controversial exit from the band, and to reclaim her own identity as a solo artist.
Following that she has been building up her profile releasing music that is rooted in the same traditional pop of La Oreja but adapting it to the current soundscape and collaborating with artists like Abraham Mateo or Edurne (Eurovision 2015). She has recently launched her debut solo album lead by the single El Ruido featuring Miranda!
She is currently touring South America before heading up north to the US and Mexico, and then she will be back to Spain to perform at festivals, like Brava Madrid.
Bonus: This collaboration came out of nowhere and I absolutely love it. As someone who recently came out of a relationship it felt cathartic and heartbreaking in the best way possible.
