Fleetwood Mac

I see there’s no post yet for this wonderful band in its many incarnations. I guess they’re done for good this time, but you’d never know with the Mac.

Anyway I started reading yesterday Christine McVie’s biography by Lesley-Ann Jones. It reminds me why I mostly don’t enjoy biographies unless it’s an autobiography. It reads like fan fiction and the gurl has the gall to quote a psychologist to explain what Christine must’ve felt at points in her life, which I thought it’s quite unprofessional.

That, and 4 unnecessary pages explaining the histories of the towns where she was born and grew up don’t give me much hope as I’m already skimming pages, but I still haven’t arrived to the start of her music career which is what really interests me.

Has anyone read it? Does it get any better?

I remember being interested in it when it was published but it got absolutely slated and she’s an appalling writer-Daily Mail or Express I think, so I’m not at all surprised it’s terrible. I think she has just written a Freddie Mercury book too?

I worship Miss McVie but think I’m just going to settle for the Songbird documentary for her story which was absolutely brilliant.

Where can you find that doco? Never knew there was one. She was always my favourite member.

I love her too. It was a BBC Special from 2019. Someone has uploaded it onto YouTube.
