Bought the Unreadable Communication box set on a whim after reading comparisons to Garbage and fancying discovering something ‘new’ a few weeks ago so am still dipping my toes in to Curve
Unfortunately a lot of their albums are still not on streaming yet, but if you like physical products I can recommend their later albums Come Clean and Gift.
You could find them on CD on discogs.
Toni Halliday’s collaboration with Leftfield (Original) is also legendary. (and on streaming, on their album Leftism)
I’d love to be able to discover them once again, have fun! Having to make do with occasional Bandcamp reissues now and tracks from Dean’s similarish band SPC ECO whilst crossing fingers for new Toni material isn’t quite the same.
This thread has just reminded me that I never did get around to buying Gift or Come Clean. Do we think there’s any chance of a deluxe re-release? When the first two albums got one I bought them for the first time.
I’d forgotten about the deluxe versions, so much so I had to check if I even bought them. It would be nice if they did carry on with them - everything Curve related seems so ‘difficult’ to my ongoing annoyance.
I’m sure a proper reissue program would’ve had enough interest, more so if they found a way to add these live sets as another disc.
Fingers crossed. And that if we get them they may come with extras!
When social media began I never envisaged a point where we’d actually be able to contact those artists I eagerly awaited their next single or album. Bands and singers didn’t seem like real people back then…
So random, but quite interesting news. (To me at least)
Toni looks stunning in this new pic.
Edit: not sure if my link will work as can’t seem to embed photos etc…
It’s on the Antigua and Barbuda the Citizen Facebook page.
“Toni Halliday and Alan Moulder are among the newest citizens of Antigua & Barbuda. Toni is best known as the singer and songwriter of Curve, a pioneering '90s alternative band, while Alan is a Grammy-award-winning mixer and producer whose work has shaped the sound of some of the world’s most influential artists. Having found themselves captivated by Antigua’s warmth, beauty and easy pace of life, they have decided to put down roots and become citizens of the twin-island nation.”
