I’ve been listening to them quite a bit lately (because I pulled out the 4-Disc Platinum Collection) and they really have a crazy strong discography. Lately Breaking Me Up has been scalping me.

New single
This feels like the right time to reveal about a run-in I had with Cheryl many years ago (2010-2011ish). We were at the starting line of the Great North Run and a few people were gathered around her and I could hear them saying “Cheryl can you sign my number” etc. At first I thought it was the Cheryl (this was peak Girls Aloud time) but when I discovered it was Ms Baker I joked, “Good luck Cheryl, hope you’ve had your Eggs & Baker this morning!” (a reference to a kids’ TV breakfast/cooking programme she had in the 80s called that). She rolled her eyes and gave me the dirtiest look imaginable.
Fast forward a few months/a year and I see her on TV on Family Fortunes and Vernon Kay made the same joke and she laughs uproariously. Never liked her since. And I always preferred Jay anyway.

I imagine the new boys did it
It’s quite embarrassing really. Been a fan since the start but this lineup feels slightly cringe. Hopefully the music is just as good as their latest Fizz releases, pretty consistent output so far. ‘Amen’ is a banger

The new single is pretty good. Fits in nicely with their existing discography.
Matthew has confirmed the artwork is a still from the music video that he has “tweaked” with AI 
I would love to buy the CD as I have everything they’ve ever released (even OBF on CD and vinyl) but it comes to nearly £10 for a single? And with an AI artwork!
The single is fine but they’ve gone back to the pastiche of their early sound like on the F to Z of Pop again.
I really like it, pleasantly surprised. It’s like a lost track from Hand Cut. Bravo Fizzers
