Ava Max - 4th Album

…Optimistic!

Two singles so far this year

With a third leaked song Somebody Someday/Why Aren’t You Dead.

Unsure what the plan is but fingers crossed there’s some basic bops for us basic flops!

Kill It Queen is a bop.

Out of Your happened. And I listened to it.

Honestly, both smashes. Maybe ‘kill it queen’ a little more so, but as a pure pop fan..this is direction is great! I need more haha

Just listened to Out of Your Mind and it might be her worst song yet.

I am hoping it’s not all too Mika/Queen like. Kill It Queen was ok, Out of your Mind is a bit meh.

I don’t know.. I’ve been here through all the haircuts and samples but the third album was already quite uninspired in parts. This here is worse. I think my maxipad is full and I have to hand it back in.

her decline becomes more understandable with each new song release.

I am so exhausted with her disappointing me many times… Was expecting much more after the debut and also when she did songs like Dancing’s Done, One of Us… whatever now :<

What’s… the point?

After the Dorito-logo album, the cancelled tour, and the tiresome samples, I still don’t get what her niche is?

Cult pop girlies who’ve not yet broken through to the mainstream rely on undeniable bops and a clear vision of who they are as an artist. Slayyyter is great, current example of how the long-game can pay off. Ava has never really solidified who she is as an artist and the music has become increasingly faceless.

She seems lovely, I’m just not sure if it’s all worth the effort for the ever-diminishing returns.

I think the problem is that circuit created the bops. Without a great producer, she has nothing.

Yeah Cirkut created her sound and once he left, Ava Max had to figure that herself.

I still don’t think she’s there yet, judging by the third album and the recent singles.

I see her in a similar position as Bebe R. She has a very good voice and could be much more for a pop star, yet she remains most famous for generic covers. Maybe it is some kind of anathema for the girls with Albanian roots when they want to be singers?

I feel she needs The Motto 2.0 to get back, like Bebe with Blue.

The current new sound is not iT.

The inability to course correct in the wake of losing Cirkut and Madison Love makes it very apparent who the driving force is behind the start of her career. Factor in that she was rumored to not even like the kind of music she was making and you end up with someone whose heart isn’t in it trying to keep what other people started going.

I know as pop fans we’re supposed to not perpetuate the manufactured pop star cliché but at the end the day she’s just that. A vehicle for whatever Cirkut and Madison Love were doing and she just didn’t manage to find another creative team to rebound.

I have genuinely really enjoyed her last two albums and her features nearly always slap, she always delivers a really great vocal.

That being said I’m so off the wagon now, everything is not working for me.

I actually haven’t listened to Kill It Queen since I watched the music video and haven’t checked out the new song, you post one dancing gif with lyrics from the song and suddenly everyone thinks you’re a maxipad!

Don’t Click Play was fine but really the decline from Diamonds & Dancefloors is becoming too step even for me to maintain an interest.

Probably because she has no vision for herself as an artist. It’s pretty rare that a pop star brings absolutely nothing to the table. She has no grasp of her own image to be able to step up and take control of her output. Just nothingness.

Is it too late to re-release this?
