Addison Rae - Addison + Future Plans

Generational debut. What else is there to say?

I really wish we would get some remixes from this era, it’s pretty much my only complaint about it

There’s a few, but sadly they’re physical only with the exception of ā€œArcamarineā€ (which she also needs to release the Coachella mix of)

Hey Raecists.

Tate McRae has to be so upset this name’s already taken for her fanbase.

Anyways, what are we hoping for in regards to the second album?

While I loved the debut, I wouldn’t mind if she does a drastic change of soundscape. I feel like she’s a strong visual artist who could be able to completely adopt a new persona in the way Madonna did that back in the day.

I’d love for her to stay where she is, but get weirder.

Yeah, same!

Cultivating her sound and style with more resources and experience…it will be gaggy!

I wonder when she will get the ball rolling on album number two.

Even with the debut still sounding minty fresh to these ears, I can see them capitalizing on the hype around her with a follow up later this year. Am I saying this as a way of manifesting it? Maybe so!

She confirmed that she’s working on new music with Luka and Elvira, so we know that much. There’s also been a slight shift aesthetically with the Addison Tour being rebranded into the Fame & Glory Show, which ends in July, so I think they could start rolling it out over the summer.

Echoing that I hope she leans even more into what she did with her debut. Get weirder. I would love to see Arca as a co-producer.

Literally just finished listening to Diet Pepsi.

She had no right to be this fucking good.

I’m hoping for her to go all out and work with Max Martin. Luka and Elvira collaborated with him and his team more last year (Debbii Dawson - I Want You & Khalid’s new album), so hoping she can deliver her Teenage Dream, Future Nostalgia that she is capable of.

If I had one criticism of an otherwise great first album, it’s that she stays in her head voice for the majority of songs. She should use her chest voice more, as she actually has a lovely tone for pop music.

Give us Arcamarine (Coachella Remix) I’m begging

I feel like she’s only scratched the surface with Luka and Elvira and am excited to see them go deeper.

I need The Dare’s remix of ā€˜Fame Is A Gun’ from his Boiler Room set released. Bad. It sounds filthy, trashy, sexy. Like it’s 3am and the caps are hitting as you make out with a sweaty bear in a harness in some packed dungeon dancefloor.

I’m trying not to get my hopes up about new album coming this year, but Addison was a fantastic debut and she’s one of the most creative ā€œnewā€ girls right now, so… the sooner the better, but if she needs to cook the next one a little more, let her cook.

Agreed. Let them keep cooking. And from what @mindtrappa has said, it sounds like that’s exactly what they’ve been doing. I’d die for Arca to be more formally involved too.

The one thing she’s got in spades is taste. You don’t pick from the references that she pulled from on the last album if your understanding of pop music is shallow. She really surprised me with how clear her vision was. Practically converted me from a TikTok Hater to a Little Raecist overnight after she dropped ā€˜Aquamarine’.

There’s been a refinement in the visuals for the latest festival sets. I hope they’re a hint of where we’re headed. Either way I get the sense they’re moving to strike while the iron is hot.

I definitely see us hearing new stuff by the end of the year, mainly because Addison said she wanted to perform new songs in the new show. We’ll see if it happens in the end, but I’m hopeful. I am continuing to manifest Arca’s involvement. Feels like a sign that the Coachella remix of ā€œArcamarineā€ is currently popping off on TikTok. I think people are ready for Addison to go deeper into the world she created on the album.

I can’t believe it took me as long as it did to get her and get into the album. I thought Diet Pepsi was just a TikTok hit that somehow I would always end up humming.

I remember the hype around some taste playlist she made for Spotify to tease the album and that had me intrigued as she seemed like a real student of pop. Then everything after just passed me by. I heard Headphones On thanks to a friend’s Instagram story and then I discovered Aquamarine shortly after. I was sold. Then I found out that she had filmed the video literally round the corner from my apartment in Paris and I had no idea, I was on that bridge all the time. My mum saw me watching the video once and said ā€œthat looks like the canal near yoursā€.

Hearing Fame Is A Gun for the first time was an experience. The way it revs and whirs towards the climax. (Gif of the woman orgasming and it just melting and disintegrating)

Truly a masterpiece.
