It’s past midnight even on Baker Island so the submissions are tentatively closed but yes we will still allow if someone wants to sneak in.
While the veto panel is going over the last remaining few submissions, here are the vetoes:
Groove Armada - Dusk You & Me
Reason: Song from a platinum-certified album, samples a big hit from the 1950s, and the overall commercial success of the act.
Blackmore’s Night - Greensleeves
Reason: A cover of an extremely famous and widely sampled/covered English folk song.
Chrissy Steele - Cry Myself To Sleep
Reason: Song already competed in PJ Retro round 81.
There are another two songs which were deemed as ineligible for this round - one of them didn’t match either of the themes, and another got rejected because of a repeat act. Otherwise, both should be eligible to appear in this contest so I won’t be posting these.
The set of songs this time is looking very diverse in terms of decades, male vocal and foreign language representation, stay tuned!

(it’s barely been 24 hours since the submissions closed and 12 hours since veto panelists finished with their decisions, getting the full song list + both playlists at once in a matter of minutes should be a premium song contest experience me thinks)
