Appleton - "Ready to Begin" (June 3rd) + EP (September 2026)

Side By Side - 4 September 2026

  1. Ready to Begin
  2. Falling Into You
  3. Strange Kinda Paradise
  4. Monster
  5. Witchita Lineman (Live From BBC Radio 2 Piano Room)

Kind of bummed it’s only an EP and that it’s not out until September.

On the bright side, Ready To Begin is gorgeous and sounds like an extension of their debut album. I really hope they find success and have more to say in the form of an album eventually!

Me too !!

Awful cover art though. Looks like it took less than a minute to put together too. The single cover for “Ready To Begin” is much better.

So it pretty much looks like it’s four singles culminating as an EP - which is fine! I’m just so grateful to be getting something new from them after so long, especially with All Saints disbanding again.

Hopefully a one off live show in London or a small tour? There’s every chance they could carry on recording and work on an album for 2027.

I mean having a vinyl and CD for an EP is really impressive so I can’t complain at all. At least they are following up with more than just a single as well so all good for me. Looking forward to Ready to Begin now too.

The vinyl looks gorgeous! I just wish the single cover was the EP cover.

Appleton feeding us better than Sugababes in 2026 was not on my bingo card.

Really enjoyed their first single since reuniting. Keen to hear their next offering in full tomorrow. The vinyl does look pretty. Liking the effort for four tracks, i’m curious how this ended up online ahead of the announcement tomorrow?

Just heard Ready to Begin on Radio 2. I liked it on first listen. They are two for two so far from this EP.

Same, first listen for both were instant. Enjoying this new era for them.

They have a signed test pressing available here.

I prefer the single artworks so far, but think the album cover is fine.

“Ready To Begin” is fantastic, and along with “Falling Into You” makes me excited to hear the other two songs. I’m surprised it isn’t a full album, or even a longer EP, after all this time but hopefully they’ll follow-up quickly. With their store being run by Townsend Music, I guess there’s a chance we might get a few digital bonus tracks too.

An EP seems good if they’re testing the waters. Ready to Begin is a great track. Upon watching their Hoopla set, Nicole has quite an underrated vocal. Her high harmony is lovely and she can hold her own with a solo vocal.

I’m hoping these are being released physically world wide, not overly keen on the shipping prices to NZ that RoughTrade are offering.

Excited for this!

Ready to Begin is surprisingly good? Not that I doubt the girls, but I wasn’t expecting it to be this good. What a chorus!

Ready to Begin is great. It would be nice if the mix was a bit less muddy in the chorus but minor complaint. Love the chunky ass production.

Ready To Begin is great, it feels really uplifting. Excited for the EP!

Never really returned to Falling Into You but this is really good. Lots of replay value with this.

I’m loving this one! A little gutted we’re just getting an EP for now, but yeah, I don’t think any new music was on the cards for us until very recently so I’m mostly grateful they’re teaming up again and gracing us with this material. Hopefully this will lead to a full project in 2027.

Ready to Begin is a bit All Saints and very Appleton. Therefore, I love it.
